These are just two examples of Cadets who have put their First Aid Skills to good use. Other Cadets and Adult Instructors around the country have also used life saving first aid skills, that they have learnt through the ACF. A National Record of awards has been created listing every incident where Cadets and Adult Instructors have had to perform First Aid within their local community.

First Aid can be fun to learn

In addition to normal First Aid training Cadets from around the UK take part in a major First Aid competition held at Frimley Park in Surrey. It is during this competition that all your skills are put to the test. The competition is not only open to Army Cadets but also Cadets from the Air Training Corps, Sea Cadets, Combined Cadet Force and St Johns Ambulance Cadets. Two Cadets that have taken part in the competition have added their thoughts about it.

"We have been down to Frimley Park twice now to take part in the competition it is great, it gives you a real chance to put into practice everything you have learnt."

"The people who run the event really put a lot of effort into it, it's so realistic
when they use all the make up for the injuries. I think taking part in the competitions has helped
me to become more confident with my First Aid skills."

All the First Aid Training you receive in the Army Cadet Force is included in your enrolment fee; there is nothing else you have to pay for. You will gain a nationally recognised First Aid qualification, but more importantly you will have the knowledge and ability to help save someone's life.
